Not every mileage tracker works the same way. We put four apps used in the US side by side, on the points that matter when you track business miles: how trips are recorded, whether hours are included, where your trip history is kept and whether you can try it free.

“Not stated” means we didn’t find it in the provider’s public information, not that the feature is missing. “Not established” means the public information gave no clear answer.
Where the differences are
- Where your trips are kept. MoveJack keeps your full trip history on your phone, without an account. MileIQ, Everlance and Driversnote keep it with the provider, which helps if you use several devices or a web dashboard.
- Trips and hours. MoveJack also records working time, taken from your visits without starting anything.
- Taxes. Everlance’s Professional plan includes 1099 filing and audit protection. MoveJack keeps the record; it does not file taxes.
- Trying it first. MileIQ, Everlance and Driversnote have a free plan with a trip limit. MoveJack gives three days with every feature.
