Parking spot and navigating to your car
MoveJack shows where you last stopped, and with one button you walk there using your phone’s maps app.
Where does the parking spot come from?
The app does not store a separate parking spot. As the parking spot it takes the end of your most recent trip with a known end address: the last GPS point, the address and the end time. That applies to every trip, including a bike or train trip.
On the home screen, the Where is your car card appears when no trip is running. Behind it you see the spot on the map, with the line “Geparkeerd sinds” (parked since), followed by the time and the distance as the crow flies. In version 2.0.48 this line is in Dutch, whatever language you use the app in.
Navigating to your car
Tap Navigeer naar mijn auto (navigate to my car; in version 2.0.48 the app shows this button in Dutch, whatever language you use it in) and your phone’s maps app opens with a walking route to that spot. Only your car’s location is passed on, as the destination. No starting point and no trip data.
- On iPhone, Apple Maps opens.
- On Android, Google Maps opens, or another maps app if Google Maps is not there.
On your iPhone’s lock screen
On an iPhone with iOS 16.2 or later, the trip on your lock screen turns into a parking card after a car trip: “Geparkeerd” (parked), the address, how long, and a Navigeer button (navigate). In version 2.0.48 the labels and the button on this card are in Dutch, whatever language you use the app in.
How long you were parked
The app works out how long you stood somewhere as the time until your next trip. That is also the basis of your visits and hours: see working hours.
