Journeys and recording

Editing, splitting and merging journeys

You can adjust a recorded journey: category, vehicle and comment. You can split journeys, merge them, add them yourself and delete them.

What can you change for each journey?

  • The category: private, business or commute. See business, private and commute.
  • The vehicle the journey is recorded against.
  • A comment, for example the purpose of the journey.
  • Claimed, for business and commute journeys. See claiming.

You cannot edit a journey’s times, distance, start and end address or odometer reading.

You can, however, give an address a name and a type: press and hold it in the journey list. That changes the address for all journeys that refer to it. See addresses.

Splitting a journey

In the journey details, choose Split trip. With a slider you pick the point on the route, and with Split here the app turns it into two journeys. This works for journeys with at least four GPS points.

The app recalculates the distance of each part, as the sum of the straight lines between the points. Together that can differ slightly from the original distance. A comment and Claimed stay with the first part.

Merging journeys

Two journeys that directly follow each other and have the same vehicle can be merged with Merge with previous in the journey details, or by selecting exactly two journeys in the journey overview. You cannot undo a merge.

The merged journey runs from the start of the first to the end of the second journey. The distances are added up and the comments combined.

The app also merges two automatic journeys by itself when they are clearly one journey: a break of less than 15 minutes, faster than 20 km/h on both sides, the same vehicle and the same category, and neither of them claimed or changed by you.

Adding a journey yourself

With the plus button in the journey overview you add a journey: date, start and stop time, start and stop address, the distance, the category and the vehicle. You can do this for a day in the past too. A journey across midnight is not possible.

A journey you added yourself has no GPS points: it has no route on the map and cannot be split. In an Excel report it is highlighted in yellow as added manually.

Deleting a journey

In the journey overview, swipe a journey aside and confirm the deletion. You delete several journeys through Select. The app deletes the journey and its GPS points. What else stays is explained in wiping and deleting data.
