Vehicles, map and addresses
Vehicles and number plates
MoveJack keeps several vehicles apart. For each vehicle you record, among other things, the number plate, the plate country and the odometer reading.
What do you record for each vehicle?
For a car you enter a photo, the number plate with the country where the car is registered, make, model, chassis number, odometer reading, fuel, CO₂ emissions in grams per kilometre and your own mileage rate. You can have several cars.
Bike, train, bus and tram are listed as fixed vehicles under Other, next to your own cars.
Plate country
Your number plate appears in the app in the style of the country where your car is registered; you choose that country for each vehicle. In the wizard, the app suggests the country based on your location or your phone’s region.
Only for a Dutch number plate does the app fetch make, model and fuel from the RDW, the Dutch vehicle authority. See Dutch number plates and the RDW.
A vehicle’s odometer reading
You enter the odometer reading yourself. After that, the app adds the distance of each automatically completed journey to it, unless the journey goes to Unknown. Journeys you add, split, merge or delete do not change the reading.
That reading is a sum of GPS distances, not a reading of your car’s odometer. If you need the actual odometer reading, read it yourself. See distance, mileage and odometer.
Which vehicle does a journey go to?
With a paired Bluetooth tag, a journey goes to that tag’s vehicle. Without a tag, the journey goes to the selected vehicle. You can change the vehicle per journey in the journey details.
Deleting a vehicle
You delete vehicles one at a time on the vehicles screen. When you wipe everything under My data, your vehicles stay.
